Overview
Camera-M is a camera module based on the ESP32 chip, integrating 4MB Flash and 8MB PSRAM. It adopts an OV2640 image sensor, capable of capturing photos at 1600×1200 resolution or streaming video over Wi-Fi.
Camera-M shares the same breakout ports as Camera-1, including 10 GPIO pins, UART, and I2C interfaces. With its streamlined design, the module offers a smaller footprint. The optional Basic expansion board adds a USB-to-Serial interface, SD card slot, and charging management functionality.
Camera-M is suitable for applications that require compact size and lighter weight while maintaining flexible expansion capability. It supports mainstream development platforms such as Arduino, PlatformIO, and ESP-IDF.
Testing
The module comes with preloaded firmware. Follow the steps below to perform the test:
- Power the board via the Vin pin (input range 3.7–5.5V) or through the Basic expansion board.
- On your phone, scan for a Wi-Fi network starting with
Node-and connect to it (password:nodenode). - Open the web browser on your phone and enter
192.168.4.1in the address bar. - Through the webpage, you can view real-time video or modify network settings.
